Our History

SIMON'S TOWN SCHOOL'S HISTORY

As the name of the school suggests, we are situated in a very affluent area. This is, of course, by no means a true reflection of the financial strength of the school as we draw very few learners from the town itself. Our catchment area includes learners from Kommetjie, Ocean View, Masiphumelele, Sun Valley, Fish Hoek, Muizenberg, Mitchell’s Plain, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.

SIMON'S TOWN SCHOOL'S CODE OF CONDUCT

The Code of Conduct for any school is an important tool that provides guidance on how learners should behave while at school. It is important to note that discipline forms the basis of learning and remains an ongoing commitment for all shareholders in the school environment. Parents/guardians/caregivers play a crucial role in the discipline of their children while the school aims to guide learners during their educational journey.

Our Facilities

SIMON'S TOWN SCHOOL'S FACILITIES

We have a fully equipped computer centre where our learners are introduced to the wonders of the computer world. Sharing facilities with the secondary section gives us access to a fully equipped Science Laboratory. Our secondary section is also proud to offer the first maritime course at school-going level in South Africa and introductory courses are also offered to our learners in the primary section. The school library offers a comprehensive selection of books and audiovisual apparatus and serves not only as a research centre but also as a place where learners can relax. Our design and technology classes give learners an avenue to explore their creative talents. Supervised after-care facilities allow learners to complete homework assignments.
